Day 7/8-Boss/Shaw/Bain
With our last day at hand we spent the first part of the morning playing with the kids: Some local people from the church set up a ‘market’ for us to buy some local goods. Pastor is nice to give these people a venue to sell some goods: We decided that […]
Day 6-Boss/Shaw/Bain
Low power is a common theme here (and I am not talking about my strength). I will write a little bit about today and then post all the pictures and you can figure out which picture goes with which story J *Before I begin, an update on Renald. They released him from the hospital as he has a type of TB that is non-responsive to medicine (medicine resistant TB). There is a […]
Day 5-Boss/Shaw/Bain
Today was another awesome day in the “school of Haiti” as Francois always says. We were able to head down the road and help at the Haiti Home of Hope feeding clinic with the Campbell’s. The work they do here is literally lifesaving. Today was for infants, mothers/grandmothers/aunts/neighbors would walk up to 12 miles just to get here. This baby will soon get a surgery in Port-au-Prince! […]
Day 4-Boss/Shaw/Bain
Today started bright and early at 5:30 as we departed for a near by (40 miles=3.5hrs) drive to Cap Haitian. The road conditions is what makes this trip take so long. Pastor usually takes the trip once or twice every two weeks. Today, he needed the American missionary Bill to help carry some lumber back for him, so we took two trucks. This is an absolutely beautiful drive as you look at the […]
Day 3-Boss/Shaw/Bain
There will not be too much writing as we are still without power (Praise God the solar panels should be installed April 7th) We went to Bill and Jennifer’s compound to charge up and it turned into a neat evening and it gave the computer enough juice to load these: First we checked out the school: There is no off season for […]
Denny, Kevin and Tim – Day 3
I talked with Denny briefly today. The borrowed generator(until the solar panels are installed in 2 weeks) isn’t working well so they hardly have any power. And the power they do have needs to be saved for pumping water. So he said he probably wont be able to post any pictures for a while. Tomorrow(Tuesday) the Three Amigos are going to drive to Cap Haitian to buy supplies, paint-to paint the orphanage, and party supplies to throw a dinner party for all the kids at […]
Day 2-Kevin, Tim and Denny!
Here’s a few pictures Denny sent tonight…the internet was slow so he didn’t have time to write much. Pastor Francois asked Denny, Tim and Kevin if they would be willing to SING at church earlier this morning. Denny will barely sing in front of his own wife, let alone a group of people. But…he did! Tim led and Kev and Denny were the background singers 😉 “Tim lined the […]
Cross Roads & Cross People
Day 33 – Friday, March 23rd Relentless Scripture: James 4:13-15 Relentless Focus: “Cross Roads & Cross People” Today started off fairly early for Pastor François and me as we left Pignon and headed for Cap Haitian at 5:15 a.m. this morning to pick up some weekly supplies. Considering I didn’t get to bed until 1:30 the night before, I thought I would just sleep like a baby on the way, because I […]
