Libraries
Libraries: One of the sad facts of Pignon, is the large majority of people have no access to reading materials, and if they do it is usually not in their native language of Creole. The vision for libraries in this community will start small. First, allowing the children in the school to be able to check out books and take them home. We would like to offer a library for the church and hopefully for the entire community to have access to books in Creole. The […]
Solar Powered Well
Old well: Girls filling old vegetable oil containers with water from the bottom of the property to carry up the hill to their Children’s Home In 2012, thanks to generous donors, Loving Haiti was able to provide the compound with a solar powered well . Clean and accessible water is a major problem in Haiti. Prior to 2012, there was s a well on the property, however it only pumped about 1/10th of the water needed. The old well was also powered by a […]
Student Loans

The loans will be offered at no interest and the students will be responsible for paying off their balance after they graduate. Example: Meet Darlin. […]

Loving Haiti began giving out small, no interest loans to community members of Pignon a few years ago. Everyone involved in this process has had great success. Every loan borrowed has been paid back in full except for the two newest loans that just transacted. The loans have ranged from buying products(computers, […]

New Generator $4,000 Why do we need a generator if we already have solar panels? Although we have 3 solar panels and battery banks on the property, they don’t generate enough electricity to power the entire compound, (school, sewing center, orphanage, church, well water,). Also, there are days without sun in which they turn to a generator for power! Solar Panels and Battery Storage $10,000-$12,000 The current 3 solar panels and batter banks don’t generate enough electricity to sufficiently power the entire compound. Home […]
